FORMER Nottingham City Council Chief Executive Jane Todd has been honoured with a special award for her outstanding contribution to Nottingham, business and the local economy.
Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC) President Ian Greenaway presented her with the award at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner at the East Midlands Conference Centre last night.
The gala black tie event saw more than 400 business leaders join the Chamber for its annual celebration of local business.
Jane stepped down from her role on health grounds last year, after undergoing a major operation.
As a long-time resident of the city and a graduate of the University of Nottingham, Jane became the City Council’s first ever female chief executive in May 2008.
She played a key role in bringing together the two city and county councils in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to form the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership and was also instrumental in establishing the Women in Nottingham network which promotes the influence of women at all levels and in aspects of city life.
