THE LORD Mayor of Nottingham was among the audience as a military band returned to play a concert at the Bulwell venue where they first took to the stage.
The Nottingham Band of the Royal Engineers were originally based at the Territorial Army (TA) base on Hucknall Lane.
They played their first-ever concert at St Mary’s Church on Highbury Road in Bulwell.
They returned to the same venue to wow a packed house that included Lord Mayor Coun Mick Wildgust (Lab), a member of Nottingham City Council and a Bulwell resident.
Jillian Naylor, who is a member of the church and helped organise the event, said: “The band were absolutely excellent.”
