Jakob William Morvinson-Capes, 20, of Waterfields, admitted using threatening and abusive words when he appeared before magistrates in Mansfield.

Ruth Snodin, prosecuting, said police were called to the Yates bar on Cannon Square, on July 16, where Morvinson-Capes was shouting at door staff who told him he was on a Pubwatch black list.

“The defendant turned his verbal abuse to the officer and shouted: ‘What f***ing power do you have to touch me?’

“He pushed his chest out and was squaring up to the officer. The officer put his hand on the defendant’s chest and told him to calm down.

“This didn’t have the desired effect so the officer pinned him against a window with his hand. The defendant pushed him away with his arms.”

The defendant lunged at the officer and would have connected if another officer had not held him back, she said.

In interview Morvinson-Capes denied that he would ever head butt someone as he had trained as a boxer.

Deborah Bell, mitigating, said; “He has never been formally told that he is on Pubwatch. He has been given mixed signals about whether he is allowed in or not.”

She said he had been out with his best friend and drank five or six pints.

Magistrates fined him £360 and ordered him to pay £50 compensation to the officer and £85 costs with a £37 victim surcharge.
