Become a Cavalier or Roundhead at Bolsover Castle
Children will have the chance to take on the role of Cavaliers and Roundheads as part of English Heritage’s ‘Time Travellers Go…’ event at Bolsover Castle during February half term.
From Monday 18th to Friday 22nd February English Heritage is staging Time Travellers Go…Cavaliers & Roundheads at Bolsover Castle.
Children can join Oliver Cromwell’s army and discover what it took to be a soldier of the English Civil War.

Hide AdTest your agility in the children’s battle and learn to use a pike in the soldiers’ drill. Children can also dress up as a Cavalier in the Discovery Centre and learn about the castle’s Civil War history.
Lucy Hutchings, English Heritage events manager says, “Time Travellers Go…events at Bolsover Castle are all about having a go and having fun. The events are run by colourful historic characters who bring history to life for children.”
