Best foot forward for Clipstone charity walk

A group of Clipstone fundraisers are gearing up for the 70-mile trek to Skegness to raise cash for a prostrate cancer charity.

It will be the second time Matt Gray and Craig Allsop have made the two-day hike - completing the march in 19.5 hours and raising money for Parkinson’s UK in 2013.

But this year the pair will be joined by friends and family Ben Turac, Matt Allsop and Gemma Wheatley in a bid to raise 1,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.

The group plan to set off in the early hours of Friday 16th May from Clipstone and camp overnight before arriving at Skegness’s iconic clock tower in the afternoon of Saturday 17th.

The group are being sponsored by Asda, Gladiator Security 27/7 in Edwinstowe, where Matt works, and Gothic Bikes.

Matt (31) told Chad: “We hope to raise £1,000 for prostate cancer charities and our ambition is to complete the walk in less than nineteen-and-a-half hours.”

One man dies in the UK every hour from prostate cancer, with over 400,000 new diagnoses each year.
