BONGO drums and crazy golf were among the attractions as up to 600 revellers flocked to the flourishing annual Papplewick Play Day.
The event on the field behind Papplewick and Linby Village Hall has become a star feature of the first week of the school summer holidays.
Children tried their hands at pedal-powered go-karts, crafts, den-building and an inflatable activity fun run.
They also tried their hand at natural play, using clay, twigs, ferns and items found in surrounding woodland.
Healthy eating was promoted with free fruit and drinks for youngsters.
The fire service and police took part, taking with them a fire engine and police car. And support came from the Gedling Play Forum and both, the road safety and family support units from Notts County Council.
The Mayor of Gedling, Coun atricia Andrews (Con), also paid a visit to the event.
One of the organisers, Richard Hull, said: “It was excellent. This was the third one and it is getting better every year.
