THE HUCKNALL and Linby Mining Community Brass Band started their busy pre-Christmas schedule by leading a Remembrance Sunday parade last weekend.
Players headed members of the Royal British Legion as part of a march to St John the Baptist Church in Tibshelf, Derbyshire.
The Last Post was sounded by the band’s principal cornet player Ben Armstrong, who joined Hucknall and Linby after a distinguished career as a bandsman in the Army.
Fast-approaching events already scheduled for the band include the Linby Christmas lights switch-on on Monday December 12 on the village green.
The popular band will also perform their Christmas concert at Hucknall Parish Church on Market Place on Saturday December 17.
Hucknall and Linby continue to carve out an impressive reputation after being launched in 2008 as the first brass band based in Hucknall for 25 years.
