Alex Brewer ran the Southwell Swine back in August for two charities.

Running for the Royal Marines Charity Trust and Group Aid, he completed the run after undergoing a below-knee amputation on his left leg and reconstruction on his right leg.

Despite awaiting recovery after contracting an infection in his right leg after the race, he is determined to continue fundraising.

He said: “It was a great atmosphere on the day and it was great to get out running again.

“It all goes to a good cause which is what it is all about.

Alex raised a total of £1,700.57 for his two chosen charities.

By giving to the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, donors enable the Trustees to meet any of the purposes of the wider charity and donate to the greatest need at the time.

The 22-year-old added: “I hope to keep fundraising in the future.

“I mainly want to stick with my running and eventually try to build my distance up, but who knows.”
