BREAKING: Mother reported stabbed in Sutton

A mother is thought to have been stabbed at an address in Sutton.

Police and ambulances were called to Barnes Crescent yesterday at about 4.45pm where the woman, who is in her 30s, had been injured in an incident.

The mother-of-three was seen walking into the ambulance and a number of police cars have been at the address all night.

One nearby resident said: “I saw the police cars and the paramedics and I knew something awful had kicked off.

“She walked into the ambulance and her daughter ran after her.”

Police have since confirmed that the woman had been injured with a knife following an assault.

However, they say the injuries are not thought to be life-altering or threatening.

Detectives are working to locate the person responsible.
