Bulwell motorbike thefts prompt police warning

A spate of thefts in Bulwell has prompted police to issue advice on how to keep motorbikes safe.

Officers say that over the past seven days, police received reports of three motorcycles being stolen from outside properties.

A spokeman for the Bulwell Safer Neighbourhoods Team. said: “These are currently being investigated. We’d like to take this opportunity to make you all aware of this, and to offer advice to those who also own motorcycles.

“Secure your motorcycle with a lock or chain and always keep keys secured away from the eyes of the public..

“Purchase a ‘ground anchor’ to secure your motorcycle to the ground, preventing theft.

“If possible, park your motorcycle securely in a garage or off-road and, also if possible, always park in a well-lit area.”

People who have sptted anything suspicious should report incidents on 101, or contact 999 in an emergency.
