It is the end of an era for teaching colleagues Tracey West and Daniel Siddons who are leaving Crabtree Primary School in Bulwell to take on new challenges in their careers.

Literacy teacher Tracey West has become part of the fixtures and fittings at Crabtree where she has worked under three different headteachers during her 20 years at the school.

A mum of two, Tracey has been appointed as deputy head teacher at Chetwynd Road Primary School in Toton, where she lives.

An assistant Beaver leader in the Boy Scouts movement and a coach for Chilwell Comets basketball team, as well as a Netball player with Life Begins team, Tracey was showered with cards, gifts and flowers as she bid a fond farewell at a special assembly.

Popular teaching colleague Daniel Siddons, who has spent nine years at Crabtree is moving on to take on a “ big challenge” at Westbury School in Bilborough where he will be teaching children with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties.

Daniel, who lives in Hucknall, was educated at Hucknall National School, has two sons and has made his mark as a member of Great Britain’s Water Polo squad.

He too, like Tracey, was presented with cards and gifts during a Year Six leavers assembly.

Both teachers agreed that their time at Crabtree Primary had been “ memorable”.

Head teacher Katie Pritchard said “ We wish Tracey and Daniel every success as they embark on new chapters in their lives. They have contributed so much to the life of our school and will be sorely missed.”
