Shoppers are reminded that there are times in the run-up to Christmas when they can park for free in Mansfield town centre.
The Four Seasons Shopping centre, in conjunction with Mansfield District Council, offers free customer parking every Sunday at the multi-storey car park.
In the run-up to Christmas, shoppers can also park for free in the Four Seasons car park from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday 10 December and Thursday 17 December.
From Monday December 21 to Wednesday December 23 the shopping centre multi-storey has free parking for customers every night from 5pm to 7pm.
In addition, all year round, there is half an hour of free parking in the council’s surface car parks and one hour free at the Civic Centre. Shoppers can also get three hours for the price of two hours at both the Four Seasons and Walkden Street multi-storey car parks.
And for those caught short of change for the ticket machines, it is now possible to pay for parking sessions by mobile phone.
Councillor Dave Saunders, Mansfield District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Regeneration said: “We are expecting many people to take advantage of these parking deals on offer and to choose Mansfield as the destination for their Christmas shopping this year.
“There are an excellent variety of shops here and late night shopping is a great option for people to do their Christmas shopping at a time that is convenient to them as well as the chance for local people to support their local businesses and economy.”
