Hucknall’s Byron Cinema has been put well and truly in the picture as the venue for a prestigious art exhibition.
The Fresh Meat Collective, which is staging the event, consists of recent Loughborough University graduates, including artists in residence, commercial artists, workshop leaders and teachers.
The exhibition’s title, which is Breaking the Fourth Wall, defies explanation but it has achieved its aim of showcasing the talents of contemporary artists and film makers.
There are 29 exhibitors and more than 100 paintings, installations and sculptures, which are displayed in different parts of the building, while films are being shown on the big screen.
The exhibition was chosen by Nottingham’s Leftlion culture magazine for its Pick of the Week accolade.
Young people are among the exhibitors and one of them is Jaycie, the 12-year-old daughter of the Byron Community Project chair Ria Cash .
The exhibition began last weekend and will continue until Friday 12 December from 6pm to 10pm each day except for 10am to 10pm tomorrow (Saturday), and it will not be open on Sunday.
