She said: “It was an excellent night with so many people attending to include all my family and close friends.

There were some friends came and supported that I had not seen for over 20 years which also helped to make it such a great night. The food was brilliant and the restaurant even played my favourite music, Motown & Soul, making it a night to remember and I will never forget it.

“I would like to thank John Coxhead (a close friend) who both me and my husband have known for many years and who organised this event, making it one of the best nights of my life.”

Angie intends to continue to support Macmillan and is having another event on Friday 28th November 2014.

This will be during the day at the Local 4 U convenience shop in Sutton in Ashfield with cake sales, raffle and tombola, all welcome.

Angie has also set up a JustGiving to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and can be accessed at www.justgiving.com/Angie-Scothern.
