Cars targeted in Nottingham Road vicinity

Vehicles in the Nottingham Road area of Hucknall are being targeted by thieves at night, warn police.

Inspector Nick Butler said: “If you see anyone acting suspiciously near parked cars or if car alarms are activated, please check, and if you think a crime is being committed contact the police.”

There have been five reported incidents of vehicle crime in the seven days to Thursday 9th April.

On Sunday 5th April between 11.00am and 1.00pm in Watnall Road, Hucknall, a silver Piazzio moped, parked at the roadside near Ladz and Dadz hairdressers, was stolen.

Between 4.30pm on Tuesday 7th April and 7.15am on Wednesday 8th April in Burberry Avenue, Hucknall, the lock of a Citroen Berlingo van parked at the roadside was forced. A black forge steel tool bag containing a DeWalt combi drill and electrical screwdrivers was stolen. Between 7pm and 7.50pm on Monday 6th April in Hillcrest Drive, Hucknall the rear number plate from a BMW R100s motorcycle was stolen.

Between midnight and 7.00am on Wednesday 8th April in Leen Valley Way, Hucknall, a Vauxhall Agila and a Mazda 6 Sport were broken into, but nothing was taken.

Overnight on Monday 6th April in Beardall Street, Hucknall, the paint work on the passenger side door and rear panel, of a white Nissan Qashqai, were scratched.
