A FUNDRAISING event is to be held on Sunday for the hospital ward where a teenage Bulwell footballer is being treated for bone cancer.
Sixteen-year-old Kris Dunn, of Squires Avenue, has played for nine seasons with Bulwell Rangers Football Club, who are organising the event.
The fund-raising day will take place at Bestwood Road Sports and Social Club on Bestwood Road from 1 pm to 6 pm.
Attractions will include a barbecue, a penalty shoot-out, a disco, face painting, a hair and beauty session, a raffle and a tombola.
Playing at left-back for the Rangers under-16 team in the Young Elizabethan League last season, Kris was diagnosed with a pulled ligament.
But he later had an X-ray which showed that he had cancer. He has been receiving chemotherapy and is being treated at the QMC’s E38 children’s oncology ward.
Other events to support the ward have included a charity run on the playing field of the former Henry Mellish Comprehensive School, where Rangers play home matches, and a fun day at Kris’s school, Top Valley Comprehensive.
