Charity guru’s 31 years of service

STAFF at an autism charity based in Bestwood Village have said goodbye to their director of children and young people’s services, PHIL CHRISTIE.

Phil has stepped down from the role with Nottingham Regional Society for Adults and Children with Autism (NORSACA) after 31 years’ service.

In his role, Phil (57) headed NORSACA’S Sutherland House School and its diagnostic assessment unit, the Elizabeth Newsom Centre.

He led the way in developing the school from one site with 12 pupils to five sites with 94 pupils.

Retirement gifts included framed pictures of the school sites drawn by pupils and a booklet of messages from the children. The presentations were made by the chairman of NORSACA’S council of management, Keith Doble.
