A CHARITY shop in Hucknall has opened the door to a fresh new era — after undergoing a revamp.
Sense has been running on High Street for 15 years and raises funds for those who are deafblind — a condition where sufferers have little or no sight or hearing.
The premises closed down for two weeks while a wall was ripped down to open up a new furniture section. Other alterations include a new changing room, new lighting, new decoration and carpeting and a lowered ceiling.
The chairman of Ashfield District Council, Coun May Barsby (Lab), carried out the official re-opening ceremony.
Shop manager Sofia Del Gaudio said she was delighted with the changes.
She added: “We are now waiting to welcome all our customers back. We are also always on the lookout for volunteers.”
