Christmas arrives early for fundraising bash

CHRISTMAS comes early to Hucknall on Saturday (June 25) thanks to a festive-themed fundraiser in aid of disabled children.

The Green Dragon pub will be trimmed with Chirstmas decorations for the event, which is in aid of Children’s Happiness Involves People (CHIPS).

The charity provides specialist powered wheelchairs for youngsters with mobility problems or life-limiting illnesses.

It is the common cause of the gaming industry and the Dragon fundraiser is being organised by James Godson, manager of the Cashino amusement arcade on High Street.

He has already dressed up as the company’s online mascot, Beaky the parrot, to collect money and is hoping to raise £2,000 throughout June.

The event at the Dragon will feature karaoke, a giant raffle, games and Christmas food.
