Church Christmas concert a great success

Members of the Mansfield Arena Church’s choir are pictured during a concert and Christmas fair held to raise money for its community projects and to take food bank donations.

On the night there was also music from house band The Meeting Place, crafts stalls, food and drink and free pool and snooker.

Arena, housed at the old ABC Cinema and Riley’s snooker hall, on Leeming Street, hopes to be seen not just as a lively pentecostal church but as a place which supports youth and community groups.

Operations Manager Julie Turner said: “It was a great night - the Meeting Place performed a Christmas medley, including Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and we had lots of donations for the Sherwood Forest Food Bank.”

Ex-Burnley FC midfielder Doug Collins will be at Arena on Sunday at 6pm giving a talk about the death of his son and becoming a Christian. All are welcome.
