Centenerian Clarice Ashford raised a glass to Queen Elizabeth as she celebrated her birthday on the same day as our monarch.
Clarice marked the occasion with a party for family and friends at Ashmere Sutton Lodge Care Home, Sutton this afternoon.
Her former carer Sandra Adsetts said: “Clarice had a wonderful time, with her son David and daughter Judith and her family and neighbours.
“The home has done her proud, making a cake and putting on a wonderful spread.”
Mrs Ashford, formerly of Lytham Road, Kirkby has two children three grandchildren and four great grandchildren who helped her celebrate with a glass of bubbly.
Alice and her late husband Ron were owners of the Ashford Bakery on Alfteton Road for many years.
Sandra told Chad: “Clarice really enjoyed herself and was amazed when she saw her birthday card from the Queen.
“She said she felt really lucky.”
She said Clarice raised a glass of bucks fizz and still occasionally enjoys a tipple.
“Her favourite tipple is a snowball but she used to love Cherry Bs when they were fashionable many years ago.”
