DRUGS were found in the underwear of a Bulwell man as he was being treated in hospital after a car accident, Derby Crown Court heard.

Jonathan Brenan (20), of Alder Gardens, Snape Wood, was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital in February last year after a smash in Arkwright Town, Derbyshire.

But as staff were cutting away his clothes to treat his injuries, they discovered six ‘wraps’ of cocaine.

The police were called and Brenan was later arrested and interviewed.

When he appeared in court, he admitted a charge of possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

He was sentenced to 12 months in a young offenders’ institute.

An order was made by the court for the drugs to be destroyed.
