St Andrew’s Church

Worship for All service Sunday week was led by lay reader, Heather Brown, who preached and led the prayers. Readings were by Di Yates and Lucy White, and John White played the organ. Refreshments were served afterwards by Sue Wilson.

Bilsthorpe

Scouts

Members from all the groups met walked around the village, looking for different items along the way. They visited the re-cycling centre and St Margaret’s Church. Members and helpers grouped together and enjoyed the rest of the evening activities at the play park.

Cubs and Beavers

Cubs attended the Mansfield and District St George’s Camp last weekend, and took part in activities including archery, tunnelling, go-cart racing, and crafts. Members from the beaver group visited for the day on Saturday week to join in the fun.

Green Centre

Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed 20 members to Tuesday week’s meeting. Raffle winners were Madge Walker and Peggy Coupland. Twenty members were welcomed to Friday week’s meeting. Raffle winners were Kath Whitby and David Ramsdale. Refreshments were served by committee members David Ramsdale, Celia Smith and Maureen Abbott. Bingo caller for both sessions was Celia Smith.

Short Mat Bowls

Six members attended the session held on Thursday week in the Village Hall. Winner of the raffle prize was Cynthia Reade.

Burton Court Centre

Chairman Sandra Morton welcomed 16 members to Tuesday week’s meeting. Twenty-two members were welcomed to Thursday week’s meeting. Raffle winners were Sandra Morton and George Heron. Refreshments were served by committee members and helpers. Bingo caller for both sessions was Sandra Morton.

Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed 44 members to Wednesday week’s meeting in the welfare. Dance MC was John Cordon and bingo caller was Alan Higgins. Members took part in a horse racing-themed game, arranged by Marion Sentence, Katie Towle and Brian Charlesworth. A general knowledge quiz arranged by Bill Lamb was won by Connie Charlesworth. Chocolate dance winners were Connie Roberts and Christine Benn. Refreshments were served by Jan Jones. Twenty-two raffle prizes were won by Kathleen Booth, Janet Towle, Jean Jarvis, Rayna Clipston. Sheila Cordon, Katie Towle, John Booth, Graham Jarvis, Maureen James, Marion Towle, Ruth Vardy, Eileen Baxter, Jean Higgins, Sheila Cotterill, Mary Bradley, Eddie Clipston, Graham Vardy and Christine Benn.

St Margaret’s Church

Worship for All service on Sunday week was led by lay readers Joan Wood and Heather Brown. Joan Wood led prayers and did intercessions, and Heather Brown Preached. Hospitality greeter was Iolen Harding. Readings were by Marion Towle and Iolen Harding. The offertory was taken by Jacqueline Brown. Sunday school was supervised by Sandra Burrows and Lauryn Stokoe, the theme was Jesus has risen. Holly Stokoe read the childrens prayer. Refreshments were served afterwards by Sandra Burrows, Hannah Bonser and Lauryn Stokoe. Organist was Derek Reaney.
