Mansfield hairdresser and 2013 British Hairdresser of the Year nominee, Mark Leeson, is one of the biggest names in the hairdressing industry and he and his team have notched up an impressive list of awards making his salon on Mansfield’s Regent Street one of the most highly acclaimed in the country.

The Tibshelf-born stylist, has seen his stunning work featured in magazines all around the world, and his salon - Hair, Body and Mind - is a luxurious melting pot of creativity which services clients from all over the region.

Company directors Mark Leeson and Richard Darby opened their first salon in 1996, and a decade later then opened the current Regent Street salon. Mark is now one of Britain’s most iconic hairdressers, and was even presented with the Chad Business Awards Lifetime Achievement Award last year.

Richard is responsible for directing the business, whilst Mark is the creative genius who has flown the flag for British hairdressing all over the globe.

Mark shares his tips on creating fabulous party hair to get you into the Christmas spirit.

- Fuelled by celebrities wigs and hair pieces are at the fore front of fashion at the moment and make for the most dramatic makeover. Hair pieces, ponytails and false fringes create a stunning new look in an instant.

- For a quick fix, dry shampoo sprays are readily available in shops and will take your hair from the office to cocktail hour. This refreshes the roots but also adds volume and is great preparation for glamorous ‘up’ styles.

- To add some sparkle, hair ornaments or jewellery are big news this season. For the ultimate romantic look take inspiration from the girls of Downton Abbey. Try a soft tousled chignon with delicate jewels running through it.

- Go through a hair detox, reviving your style with a cleansing crème with detox properties, it’s almost like a facial for your hair. Do this once a week to remove all the build-up of product and residues, resulting in freshly cleansed hair ready for the next party.
