Councillor offers to join search for missing Mansfield schoolgirl

A councillor has offered to join search parties to find Mansfield schoolgirl Amber Peat who went missing at the weekend.

Stuart Richardson, the representative for the Penniment ward - in which the 13-year-old’s lives on Bosworth Street - has been in contact with police to offer his services.

He said: “It’s very worrying, I’ve spoken to the police and if there’s anything I can do, I’m here to help in any way I can.

“I know there are people out there looking, and my thoughts are with her family at the moment.

“If anyone has any information they need to come forward with it.”

Amber went missing from her home at around 5.30pm on Saturday, 30th May.

Officers are carrying out searches in the local area and believe there is every chance she is still in the Mansfield area.

Amber Peat is described as white with long dark brown hair. She is around 4ft tall and of a petite build with brown eyes and a tiny scar above her lip. She was last seen wearing a black Puma zip up top, purple trainers and blue jeans.
