Couple devastated after sentimental jewellery is stolen during Nuthall burglary

A Nuthall couple have been left devastated after thieves steal sentimental jewellery.

A necklace, which is of great sentimental value to its owner, was among the items stolen during the burglary, which happened in Watnall Road, between 11am and 1.20pm on Wednesday, November 21.

The necklace belonged to the victim’s mother who died in 2006. It is a heart-shaped pendant with an intricate swirly gold weave pattern in the middle. It is studded with diamonds and amethysts, with an amethyst droplet at the bottom.

Also stolen was a large quantity of other jewellery including the victim’s husband’s wedding ring, a diamond bracelet, emerald ring, flower necklace, gold necklaces and a distictive necklace and matching ring.

Nikon camera equipment, an Xbox games console, a quantity of cash and morphine tablets prescribed to the victim for back pain were also taken.

Detective Constable Sarah Stables said: "The victim and her husband are absolutely devastated and heartbroken at what has happened and what has been taken from their home.

"We’re urging anyone who has any information at all to contact us. Were you in the area at the time and did you see or hear anything which caused you concern? Do you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area which could hold some vital information? Have you seen or been offered any of the items as described to buy?

"If you have any information at all which you think could help us in this investigation, then please get in touch."
