COURT: M1 driver had no insurance

A MOTORIST has been fined for driving without valid insurance on the M1 at junction 27 at Annesley.

Jonathan Maine (44), of Pepper Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, pleaded guilty at Mansfield Magistrates Court to committing the offence on Monday July 18 last year.

He was fined £110, had his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points and was ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.

Maine also pleaded guilty to using a tyre which was not inflated enough to be fit for use, and to using a tyre which was below the legal tread-depth.

He faced no separate penalty for these charges.
