Craft group shines bright at summer fair

HUCKNALL Parish Church’s newly-formed craft group was well to the fore at its annual summer fair in the church grounds.

The popular group meets once a month and is proving an ideal way for the members to develop artistic and creative talents.

One of the stalls at the fair was devoted to ornaments skilfully made by people in the group.

Unlike some previous years when the event has had to be held indoors, the fair was blessed with fine weather and it raised the bumper total of about £900.

The event attracted a good attendance, including shoppers who also visited the adjoining Hucknall Market.

The well-stocked stalls provided a wide variety of goods and games were organised for children to play. Refreshments were provided.

Hucknall Tourism and Regeneration Group had a stall which raised £100, split between itself and the church.
