Arrest after woman conned her way into elderly man's house and stole cash

An elderly man had cash stolen from him after a woman tricked him into letting her enter his house.

The woman fled the address in Bulwell on Monday Afternoon (July 19).

Police were called and immediately worked hard to establish the circumstances and conduct enquiries.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with the incident and officers are now appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Nick Wood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a manipulative action by the suspect to take advantage of a man in order to steal from him.

“We take reports of burglary very seriously and will always thoroughly investigate reports with the view to taking appropriate action against those found to have committed such offences.

“Officers did an excellent job to make an arrest as part of their enquiries and the woman remains in custody today for questioning.

“I would now ask for anyone who has any information on what happened to come forward.”
