Homeless Notts man locked up for carrying a large knife

A homeless Notts man has been jailed for carrying a large knife.

Timothy Bailey, 44, was found with the blade on Ellis Street, in Kirkby, on December 15.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court two days later and pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article.

Magistrates ruled the offence was so serious because he was on licence at the time and he was locked him up for 24 weeks.

He was ordered to pay a £128 surcharge and £85 costs.
