Hucknall man spared jail for a string of offences

A Hucknall man who pleaded guilty to a string of offences including theft, assault and dangerous driving, has been spared jail.

Thomas Howitt drove an Audi S3 dangerously, without a licence or insurance, in Strelley, on September 22, 2019.

He assaulted a woman on January 14, in Hucknall.

He stole £40 of meat from Hucknall Co-Op, on January 14, £62 of toiletries from Home Bargains, and £13 of food from Greggs, on February 6, and £72 of items from Boots, on March 5.

He used threatening behaviour, and was carrying a lock knife after stealing £1 of biscuits from Iceland on April 4.

Howitt, 21, of Ogle Street, admitted all the offences before Nottingham magistrates, on April 9.

He was sentenced to 48 weeks, suspended for 18 months, and banned from driving for two years. He was ordered to pay £300 compensation.
