Over £100,000 of damge has allegedly been caused at a car dealership after a vehicle crashed into its forecourt.
Police have launched an investigation after a motorist crashed into other vehicles and the garage forecourt of Smith’s, of Ilkeston.
The collision happened on Station Road, Ilkeston, about 1am, today, Saturday, November 15.
A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “One vehicle left the road and collided with numerous stationary vehicles and a garage forecourt.”
Ilkeston firefighters made the vehicles safe and left the incident in the hands of police.
A Derbyshire fire services spokesman added: “Police waited at the scene before the recovery of the vehicle involved in the collision and an ambulance was also in attendance.”
Media reports claim that more than £100,000 of damage has been caused with four new cars written off and a lamppost has been flattened.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said that two men had been arrested following the incident on suspicion of drink-driving.
He said that the car had left the road, smashed into the forecourt and had overturned.
Firefighters left the crash scene at about 1.30am after making the area safe.
