Man who stole from businesses across Nottinghamshire jailed

A Bulwell man has been jailed after admitting a series of thefts at shops and commercial burglaries across Nottinghamshire.

Bobby Lunt, 34, of Ravensworth Road, has been jailed for 30 months after admitting 12 shop thefts, three commercial burglaries, two offences of criminal damage, one attempted theft and possession of a bladed article.

He was arrested on June 6 on Eaton Road, West Bridgford, after being spotted by officers who knew he was wanted for a number of offences. He was searched and officers found a lock knife in his trouser pocket.

The offences he was wanted for included commercial burglaries at Park Plaza, Maid Marian Way, where he took £50 of alcohol on May 24; Revolucion de Cuba, Market Street on April 1 where he took £880 of alcohol and Annie's Burger Shack, Broadway, on March 25, where he took £140 worth of meat and alcohol.

The shop thefts included stealing meat worth £157 from Sainsbury's on Market Street, Bingham on May 21; a shower from B&Q on Mansfield Road, Sutton on May 17; £250 of ink cartridges and CDs from Sainsbury's on Perry Road, New Basford on May 13; and £103 of alcohol from a Co-op on Mansfield Road, Blidworth on May 4.

Lunt pleaded guilty to all of the offences and was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday (20 July).

Inspector Phil Grimwade, business crime lead for the city, said: "A number of teams have worked together to secure these convictions for offences across the force area."
