Police are appealing for witnesses and information after two masked men forced their way into the home in Hill Road, Bestwood, at around 5.30pm on Thursday, December 31.

The men were reportedly armed with a machete and a meat cleaver.

The pair left shortly afterwards when they were chased from the scene.

Nothing was taken and nobody was injured.

Detective Sergeant Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a distressing incident for the victims and we are keen to find the people responsible as soon as possible.

"This was a significant disturbance and is likely to have been witnessed by people living nearby.

“So if you saw what happened in this incident please call us on 101 quoting incident 451 of December 31.
