Later in the evening, police attended another incident involving two neighbours.

Officers were called to Main Road, Barnstone, at 10pm following reports of a man being threatened with a knife.

Police arrested a 23-year-old man after it was claimed he threatened to cut his neighbour’s throat in front of his partner’s children.

Inspector Chris Pearson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “These were both very serious incidents and officers did a brilliant job to quickly arrive and detain the suspects.

“We are satisfied these were isolated incidents and that there was no wider threat to the public.

“Thankfully no-one was seriously injured but whenever there are weapons involved, there is always the potential for far more serious consequences.

“Nottinghamshire Police takes reports of violence very seriously and will always look to take robust action against offenders.”
