Teenager arrested after ‘shot fired’ in Hucknall

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a firearms incident in Hucknall.

Police received a report that a shot had been fired in Green Close at around midday on Thursday.

A man has now been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and possession of class B drugs.

Weapons have also been recoverd from a property which will now form part of the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Dave Prest, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was an isolated incident where it’s believed a shot was fired in order to scare another individual.

“We’ve been working around the clock to track down a suspect, resulting in a search being carried in the early hours of Sunday morning and a man being arrested as our enquiries continue.

“We won’t tolerate gun crime in Nottinghamshire,” he added.
