5. William Howitt
William Howitt, 27, formerly of Holme Road, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, was found guilty of preparing an act of terrorism (under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006) following a three-week trial. He also pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice. He was sentenced to four years and ten months. Muhamed Juwara, 20, of Bayswater Road, Leeds, was sentenced to nine years in a young offenders’ institution after admitting attempted robbery, which he later admitted to in court.
