Woman arrested after motorcyclist killed in A60 collision in the Dispatch area

A woman has been arrested after a motorcyclist was killed in a road traffic collision on the A60 in the Dispatch area.

The incident occurred shortly before on Sunday, July 25 on the A60 Mansfield Road.

The collision took place south of the junction of Burntstump Hill and involved a van and a motorcycle travelling in opposite directions along the road.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 48-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 31-year-old woman was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving while unfit through drink and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

She has been released under investigation.

Collision investigation officer Sophie Law, of Nottinghamshire Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said: "We are keen to understand exactly what happened and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward or have any dash camera footage to please contact 101 and quote 826-25072021.”
