Callum Murphy pulled his victim to the floor and Sadie Jennings rained punches on him in the fight at the Talbot pub on the 2nd of January.

Murphy, 18 of Egmanton Road Meden Vale and Jennings 18 of Brookside Avenue Mansfield Woodhouse, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour when they appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The court was shown CCTV footage of the incident, which showed several people involved in the brawl.

Murphy said he had attacked the man in the mistaken belief he had been involved in an alleged incident involving Murphy’s sister. Jennings, who suffered from a spine condition had intervened in an effort to help her friend and accepted the man had done nothing to her. Both accepted responsibility for their actions and said it wouldn’t have happened had alcohol not been a factor.

They were given a two month curfew order on Thursday Friday and Saturday nights from 8pm-5am with £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge.
