Dad drops his baby during domestic

A Mansfield man who dropped his baby onto a sofa during a booze and drug-fuelled domestic argument has been given a 12-month community order.

District Judge Diane Baker was told how Daniel Eardley (27), of Nottingham Road, had dropped the infant from the height of an A4 sheet of paper after his partner grabbed his testicles.

Neil Hollett, prosecuting, told the court Eardley had consumed 9 cans of larger and a gram of cocaine before the row.

He admitted assault and destroying his partner’s phone as she tried to call police.

Eardley was given an alcohol treatment programme and ordered to pay 300 compensation, £85 court costs and £60 victim surcharge.
