Bulwell’s Hempshill Hall Primary School Eloise Stimson (10) was given a big surprise by her headteacher Helen Ridge during a special assembly .

The unsuspecting youngster, described as “a model pupil and a role model to her peers” was presented with a bicycle, helmet and accessories after being singled out as the school’s “champion scholar.”

For the past four years, Eloise who lives in Hempshill Vale, has achieved an amazing attendance record missing just two days in all that time.

In recognition of that achievement the likeable youngster was invited to attend a presentation at Nottingham’s Council House, with her family, where she was presented with a Lord Mayor’ Award for attendance excellence.

As she was called out by Mrs Ridge, Eloise was given a rousing reception by pupils and staff and was introduced to Rotarians Bill Smith and Geof Bosworth who presented her with her special prize.

Mr Smith, a past President of Bulwell and Basford Rotary Club, and Mr Bosworth, the club’s newest member, handed over the bicycle and accessories and praised her amazing attendance record at the school she loves.

Headteacher Helen Ridge said: “ Eloise is a really positive roll model. We feel privileged to have her in our school. She does so much to help other pupils and is always honest, kind and generous in everything she does.”
