Disney On Ice holiday magic surprise at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena

OTHERS might imitate but nothing can match the magic of a Disney production and this was certainly the case when Disney on Ice skated into Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena last week.

Everybody’s favourite characters were brought to life as children’s faces across the areana lit up with the arrival of the Disney Princesses and the likes of Woody and Buzz from Toy Story.

The theme was based around “It’s Party Time’ where the skaters interpreted the different holidays and celebrations from around the world.

This included a ghoulish Halloween spectacular with Cruella De Ville, Captain Hook and other dastardly villains giving a rendition of several spooky numbers.

Mickey was a marvel when he donned the cape of Fantasia and took to the ice with countless flourescent brooms dancing in time to the symphony.

Meanwhile Minnie explored love with the girlish fantasies of Valentine’s Day with the princesses including Cinderella, Snow White and Tiana from The Princess and the Frog.

Lilo and Stitch took us to an Hawaiian luau which certainly proved a hit with the big girls in the audience as a David Beckham look-a-like skated and surfed topless, strutting his stuff in surf-shorts.

The whole production was a seamless show of perfection for all Disney fans young and young at heart.

It mesmerised my daughter and even my nine year-old son was suitably impressed with the skills of the performers on the ice as they twisted, turned and triple-axeled their way throughout the show.

It promises to delight the whole family and it certainly succeeded and as for many previous, it will certainly be a must-see for my family for years to come.
