Do It for Framework Day (DIFF Day) will be a 24-hour push of do-gooding on Friday, June 10, to raise money for Framework and celebrate its 15th anniversary.

The charity helps more than 11,000 homeless people in the East Midlands each year.

Businesses, faith, sports and activity groups will take part in the day and Framework is urging more people to come forward and join in and hit the fundraising target of £10,000.

First Kirkby-In-Ashfield Scout Group will be getting sponsored and sleeping out. The Bike Club Social Enterprise in Bulwell are having a Bike Sale on June 11. Sainsbury’s, in Hockley, and SMS experts Esendex will be wearing orange and raising funds. Meanwhile, Fox Talbot Coffee Shop, in Nottingham, is running a raffle and Framework head office will be ultra-orange, holding office Olympics and sharing jelly and ice cream to mark 15 years of helping homeless people.

DIFF Day sponsor, The Nottingham Building Society is offering £1,500 of match funding on donations before July. On June 10 the society will run a bake sale, a cardboard shelter making competition and is launching a ‘Change for Good Campaign’, encouraging anyone who has spare small change to drop into their local branch and donate it directly to Framework.

Gary Womersley, head of The Nottingham Branch Network, said: “We all have those coins lying around so, we are encouraging people to have a change clear out to help us reach £1,500. If they hit this target, placed end to end, the change would span around one and a half miles, the same distance from the our Upper Parliament Street branch to Framework’s Head Office.”

Jess Powell, partnerships manager at Framework, added: “The funds raised are vital to continue to deliver essential local services and to continue our support to help vulnerable people and we are incredibly grateful to all those who have come forward and to every person who will.”
