DOG ATTACK: Woman and dog injured after being attacked by Staffordshire bull terrier in Bulwell

Officers say a woman was walking her two dogs in an alleyway linking Wingborne Walk and Naomi Crescent when one of them, a West Highland White Terrier, was attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier/pit bull type dog.

The tan-coloured dog, of muscular build, was not on a lead when it attacked the terrier.

The owner is described as a white woman, aged between 25 and 30 with long blonde hair and wearing light-coloured summer clothing and trainers.

Officers think her dog’s name is Kilo.

She was walking towards the woman with the terrier when the attack happened at about 11.30am on Thursday, October 27.

The owner of the West Highland White Terrier suffered injuries to her hands and fingers, requiring hospital treatment, as she tried to separate the animals.

The West Highland White Terrier also needed surgery at the vets.

Police are appealing for the owner of the Staffordshire bull terrier/pit bull type dog to come forward.

Officers are also urging anyone with any information about the incident to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident 124 of Friday 28 October.
