Dog-owners told to scoop their poop

A campaign has been launched by Ashfield District Council against dog owners who cannot be bothered to scoop the poop.

Dog poo left on the streets and in parks increases during dark winter months.

So, the council is working with the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy to roll out its national campaign - which features posters with a glow in the dark pair of eyes and the message ‘we’re watching you’.

The scheme pilot saw fouling almost halved in monitored areas which featured the posters.

Look out for them in known dog fouling hotspots around the area.
