Drink drive man fled from scene of accident

A motorist who suffered a fractured knee after he crashed when over the drink-drive limit has been banned from the road for 12 months.

Patrick David Mellors (37) of High Street, Stanton Hill, also split his head after he crashed his Citroen Saxo into another vehicle after he jumped a red light on Stoney Road, Stanton Hill.

The force was enough to trigger the airbags in he other car.

Mellors fled from the scene but was later visited by police at home.

He was found to have 111 mlgs in 100 mls of blood. The legal limit is 80 mlgs.

Admitting the charge at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court, unemployed Mellors he was also handed a £100 fine and told to pay costs of £85 and a £20 surcharge.
