Andrei Eugen Malureanu, 34, of Keswick Road, Worksop, admitted driving with excess alcohol when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Police became suspicious of the way his Vauxhall Astra was being driven at 9pm, on June 20, as it exited the carpark of a pub on Carlton Road.

A roadside breath test revealed he had 41 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Malureanu told the court: “I am sorry I have done it. My work is based on my licence. It is what it is.”

The court heard Malureanu had a clean Romanian driving licence.

He was banned for 12 months and fined £400. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and a £40 victim surcharge.
