Driver punched by cyclist in Papplewick

A motorist was punched in the face by a passing cyclist as he waited in traffic.

It is reported to have happened at the junction of Mansfield Road (A60) and Blidworth Waye in Papplewick, at around 11.45am on Wednesday 18 September 2013.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was waiting in traffic in a white Ford transit van when he was approached by the cyclist. He punched him through the open driver’s side window and rode away.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and was bailed pending further enquiries.
