Shane Chapman, 36, of Chesterfield Road, admitted the breach of his bail at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The court heard he is due to stand trial on March 14 at Nottingham for possession of 216 grammes of amphetamine with intent to supply,

As a condition of his bail Chapman must be assessed for dependency on Class A drugs, but he failed to attend an appointment with a drug worker on February 22.

Jo Chadd, prosecuting, said Chapman had tested positive for opiates and cocaine in January 2015.

Tom Oates, mitigating, said: “On February 23 the defendant telephoned the organisation because he thought his appointment was on that date. Since then he has been in touch with police. I think that demonstrates his willingness to cooperate.”

He said Chapman had been on bail for a total of 14 months.

The presiding magistrate told Chapman to keep all his appointments.

He said: “If you come back again for breaching bail you won’t be going home. You will be in custody. You won’t get a second chance.”
