Residents at Hazelgrove Care Home are getting hands on with some chicks that were hatched in the home.

The Hucknall home received ten eggs, an incubator and a brooder box on 13th April.

Manager Jane Howden said: “By the following morning we had our first born. We are now the owners of seven baby girls and three baby boys. The experience has brought back a lot of memories for the residents who have looked after and raised chickens of their own. One resident recalled going down to Nottingham market with an empty box with holes in the top and coming back with a box of baby chicks. A lovely experience for all at Hazelgrove.”
